Student Exhibit, Fri. 10/2

At the end of each weeklong session, we Hosts set up tables and chairs and lamps and cloths just so, and the students gather their best work from the week to put on display before they go home. On weeks that have a cooking class, that class prepares little sample plates (like the Thai food, above) so that students can munch while they meander past the tables and see what everyone's been busy doing.

Here's a sampling of what this week's students produced:

The quilters were so nice: they let me bring my little Rigid Heddle loom to their studio and work up my next projects in their spacious, sunny classroom. I made a table runner, in the perfectly rich rusty orange that I so love, with evenly spaced shots of recycled sari silk from India for added interest:

The colors are sadly lacking here, due to the darkness that was the corner of the community room where I had it all laid out. Trust me, it's a beauty.
